South Indian Fish Curry

Tamil Fish Curry Today we are going to make Chettinad
fish curry. So these are the ingredients which we are going to use in the recipe for
today so here I am using Catla fish that means Katla fish but you can use any other fish and here I am using 800 grams of quantity but in the description
ingredients are mentioned for 400 grams quantity so adjust the spices and the
quantities of the ingredients as per your requirement and taste okay so let’s
start making the recipe for today first add chili powder 1 to 2
tablespoon, turmeric powder and some salt. Coat the fish pieces well with the powdered spices
after coating the fish pieces keep them aside till further usage. Now heat oil in
a kadhai or wok or any vessel with heavy base and heat the oil on medium
high heat once oil is heated add the fish pieces and I’m doing it in batches of two or
three and let them fry for 3 to 4 minutes and fry them from both sides
once fried take them out leaving the oil behind once fried keep them aside till further
usage now in the same oil add fennel seeds followed by chopped onions and let
them sought till they’re light brown now add in ginger garlic paste and give it a good mix and let it sought till the raw smell goes or around 40 seconds Now add in tomatoes and let it cook for a minute now add all the spice powder give it a good mix and let it sought for couple of minutes or
till the oil starts separating also add very little water now add grated coconut again give it a
mix and sought for a minute. Now switch off the flame and let it cool for couple
of minutes and then take this into a go grinder and add very little water and grind into paste. the flame and take this into a grinder
and add very little water and grind in to fine paste keep our paste aside till
further usage now heat oil in the same kadai or wok once heated add in mustard
seeds and let them sought till they start
crackling now add the onions and curry leaves and green chilli give it a mix and let
it sought till they start turning brown Now add our grinded paste into it, add salt give it a mix cook for few minutes or
till oil starts separating let’s cook for 2 to 3 minutes now add grated
tomatoes and tamarind paste again give it a mix let it cook for a minute now
add water some more water. Mix it now let it heat
for couple of minutes once the water is hot gently add the fried fish pieces
after adding the fish pieces turn the flame to medium high and let it cook for
two to three minutes now turn the flame to low medium and cover the wok or kadhai and leave it to cook for eight to ten minutes till the fish is done if
required open it and check once in between and if required
add water or stir gently once in between and add in fresh for coriander leaves. Give it a good mix but do it gently otherwise you might break the fish pieces switch off
the flame. Now we will transfer our chettinad fish curry to the serving
dish so friends here is our Chettinad FIsh Curry ready to eat and believe me
