MORE THAN 60 RESTAURANTS WILL RUMBLE THIS WEEKEND AT THE PHILADELPHIA BURGER BRAWL AND BURGER BRAWL FOUNDER ROB WASSERMAN JOINS US NOW WITH A TASTE OF WHAT TO EXPECT. MYSELF AND MY WIFE WE WERE LIVING IN MEREDITH ELEMENTARY WHICH WAS IN SOUTH PHILADELPHIA AND THAT FIRST DAY OF TOURING WE WERE LOOKING AT THE COMPUTER LAB AND IF YOU CAN IMAGINE, THE COMPUTERS WERE PROBABLY COMMODORE 64’S IF YOU CAN IMAGINE AND IT WAS TERRIBLE AND WE JUST — MY WIFE LOOKED AT ME AND SAID LISTEN WE GOT TO DO SOMETHING. WHAT CAN WE DO. I SAID WE OWN RESTAURANTS WHY DON’T WE DO SOME TYPE OF EVENT AND WE’RE KNOWN FOR BURGERS AT ROUGE SO DEFINITELY A BURGER EVENT. THAT’S HOW IT STARTED. WE WERE THE FIRST IF YOU CAN IMAGINE THE FIRST CHARITY EVENT HELD ON SCHOOLS GROUND AT THE MEREDITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. I DIDN’T REALIZE. WHICH IS AMAZING. WE RAISED PROBABLY $15,000 THAT FIRST YEAR AND IF YOU CAN IMAGINE GOING INTO OUR NINTH YEAR WE’VE RAISED $283,000. THAT’S INCREDIBLE. FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA AND SO WE’RE REALLY EXCITED AND IT’S BEEN A LOT OF FUN. TELL US ABOUT THE LOCATION. THIS IS OUR FIRST YEAR AT THE NAVY YARD. IT JUST WORKED WELL FOR US. THEY HAVE A MAJOR LARGE PARADE GROUND THAT ALLOWS US TO HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE SO TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THAT FIT THAT 3,000 PEOPLE YOU REALLY NEEDED THAT SPACE.
